Visit to LA Art Book Fair

Join LAAC on Sunday, February 1st for an informal visit to the LA Art Book Fair held at The Geffen Contemporary MOCA .

“Free and open to the public, Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair is a unique event for artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presented by over 250 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers.”

SCHEDULE
11 am - Our group will meet outside of the Fair
12 noon - We will attend the “Sex Archive Show N’ Tell” (held in Gallery E)

1 pm - We will walk to Angel City Brewery for drinks (until 3 pm)

Feel free to join us at any point in the visit!

Open Call for Volunteers for LAAC’s New Blog Series!

Open call for volunteers interested in playing an active role in the development of content for LAAC's new blog series.

First meeting will be Sunday February 8 at 2pm at Cafe Tropical on Sunset.

Items to be discussed include:

  • Feedback on draft content templates (interviews, virtual tours, item highlights)
  • Brainstorm other content areas
  • Story assignments

Community Survey

LAAC has launched an online survey to assess the needs and interests of our local archival community. We intend to use these responses to inform the goals of the organization and to plan for future event offerings. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey and tell us what you hope to gain, what you'd like to contribute, and to suggest any ideas for events, workshops, discussions, tours, blog series, etc.

Dec. 4 Meet & Greet Recap

2014_1204_LAACMeetAndGreetWe would like to thank the roughly 60 people who came to the Meet & Greet at El Chavito bar yesterday evening! It was great to see old friends, make new connections, and start planning future events. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we plan to put on similar events in the new year.
