LAAC has launched an online survey to assess the needs and interests of our local archival community. We intend to use these responses to inform the goals of the organization and to plan for future event offerings. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey and tell us what you hope to gain, what you'd like to contribute, and to suggest any ideas for events, workshops, discussions, tours, blog series, etc.

The Los Angeles Archivists Collective (L.A.A.C.) was organized out of a desire and need for a local community of archival professionals. As MLIS/IS students, we turned to our peers and faculty for support, however that support system does not always stick post-graduation. L.A.A.C. would like to bring together students, archivists, and other information professionals to connect, collaborate, conspire, and even commiserate.

We would like to provide a space for socializing, networking, and the sharing of ideas by hosting informal meetings, providing social media outlets, and connecting to professional development opportunities in the Los Angeles area.

We are just at the beginning stages of developing L.A.A.C. and we invite any ideas and help you can provide. Join our Google Discussion Group to begin the conversation and follow us on our social media sites for news, announcements, events, and more.
