The Los Angeles Archivists Collective expresses its solidarity with the immigrant community and all members of local communities who are being unfairly targeted by ICE, local police, and federal agents. Diversity is one of the strengths of Los Angeles. The multiplicity of cultures in the city and our communities is vital to the fabric of the city. The cruel, violent, and inhumane actions many across the city are currently facing are meant to divide and sow fear.
LAAC condemns the harassment and unjust detention of members of our communities. The widespread denial of basic human rights cannot and should not be accepted as normal. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
